Bless the Lord, O my soul! And all that is within me, bless God’s holy name!

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all God’s benefits,

Who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,

Who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good as long as you live so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The Lord, who works vindication and justice for all who are oppressed, has made known God’s ways to Moses, God’s acts to the people of Israel.

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

The Lord will not always chide, nor harbor anger for ever.

The Lord does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.

*Responsive Reading               Psalm 118:1-14

O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;

His steadfast love endures forever!

Let Israel say, “His steadfast love endures forever.”

Let the house of Aaron say, “His steadfast love endures forever.”

Let those who fear the Lord say, “His steadfast love endures forever.”

Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place.

With the Lord on my side I do not fear. What can mortals do to me?

The Lord is on my side to help me; I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.

It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in mortals.

It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.

All nations surrounded me;

In the name of the Lord I cut them off!

They surrounded me, surrounded me on every side;

In the name of the Lord I cut them off!

They surrounded me like bees; they blazed like a fire of thorns;

In the name of the Lord I cut them off!

I was pushed hard, so that I was falling, but the Lord helped me.

The Lord is my strength and my might; He has become my salvation.

The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.

Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion!

Tell among the peoples God’s deeds!

The Lord who avenges blood is mindful of them,

And does not forget the cry of the afflicted.

Be gracious to me, O Lord! See what I suffer from those who hate me;

You are the One who lifts me up from the gates of death, that I may recount all your praises, and, in the gates of the daughter of Zion, rejoice in your deliverance.

The nations have sunk in the pit which they made;

Their own foot has been caught in the net which they hid.

The Lord is made known! The Lord has executed judgment!

The wicked are snared in the work of their own hands.

The wicked shall depart to Sheol, all the nations that forget God.

For the needy shall not always be forgotten, and the hope of the poor shall not perish for ever.

Arise O Lord! Let not mortals prevail; Let the nations be judged before you!

Put them in fear, O Lord; Let the nations know that they are mortal!

The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad.

Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like the watercourses in the Negeb!

May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy!

Shall come home with shouts of joy, carrying their sheaves.
