*Sing Again: “Here I Am to Worship” On Screen
*Responsive Reading Psalm 119:129-136
Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my soul keeps them.
The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.
With open mouth I pant, because I long for your commandments.
Turn to me and be gracious to me, for you are just to those who love your name.
Keep steady my steps according to your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me.
Redeem me from human oppression, that I may keep your precepts.
Make your face shine upon your servant, and teach me your statutes.
My eyes shed streams of tears, because your law is not kept.

*Sing Again: “In Christ Alone” On Screen
*Responsive Reading Canticle of Wisdom UMH #112
May God grant that I speak with judgment and have thoughts worthy of what I have received,
For God is the God even of wisdom and the corrector of the wise.
Wisdom is more mobile than any motion; because of her purity, wisdom pervades and penetrates all things.
For she is a breath of the power of God, and a pure emanation of the glory of the Almighty; therefore nothing defiled gains entrance into wisdom.
For she is a reflection of eternal light, a spotless mirror of the working of God, an image of God’s goodness.
Though wisdom is but one, she can do all things; while remaining in herself, wisdom renews all things;
In every generation wisdom passes into holy souls and makes them friends of God and prophets.
Truly God loves nothing so much as those who live with wisdom.
For she is more beautiful than the sun, and excels every constellation of the stars. Compared with the light, she is found to be superior.
For light is succeeded by the night, but against wisdom evil does not prevail.

Praise the Lord.
I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation.
Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who have pleasure in them.
Full of honor and majesty are the works of the Lord whose righteousness endures for ever,
Who has caused his wonderful works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and merciful.
The Lord provides food for the faithful and is ever mindful of his covenant.
The Lord has shown his people the power of his works by giving them the heritage of the nations.
The works of the Lord’s hands are faithful and just; the precepts of the Lord are trustworthy; they are established for ever and ever, to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness.
The Lord sent redemption to his people and has commanded his covenant for ever. Holy and wondrous is God’s name!
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. The praise of the Lord endures for ever.

HEATHER THOMAS VAN DEREN
Heather Thomas Van Deren has loved music since she was a little girl. She took her first piano lesson at 7 yrs of age. From music recitals to singing or playing in talent shows, Heather loved, loved, loved all things music! She continued growing in her musical abilities throughout high school and again in her adult years through service in her church.
Although she was saved in her teens, it wasn’t until she was a young mother that she stepped out in faith to sing for the Lord. Heather was with the popular ladies’ trio “Hearts to Him” for 10 years, and with the group “Rejoice” for 8 years prior. Her first solo project was released in 2009. Since then, Heather has released 4 additional albums, including her Christmas CD and the “Just in Time” CD, which was awarded Album of the Year by the Texoma Gospel Music Assn. Her latest project, “Movin’ On” has given her a No. 1 & No. 3 song on the National Christian Country Music charts.
Heather has been nominated for and awarded numerous awards such as:
*Female Christian Entertainer of the Year
*2019 Female Vocalist of the Year
*This year Heather has been nominated in 7 different categories through 3 separate professional National and International Music Associations.
Heather also has an award-nominated program called “What Love Means” – a series of testimony interviews of people like you! It is currently carried on 11 national and intercontinental radio stations, and 3 U.S. TV stations.
Heather ministers at many cowboy churches, among others, and travels throughout the year. She and her husband live on a farm in Millsap, TX where they raise registered Black Angus show cattle.

O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
His steadfast love endures forever!
The Lord is my strength and my power; the Lord has become my salvation.
There are joyous songs of victory in the tents of the righteous:
The right hand of the Lord does valiantly, the right hand of the Lord is exalted,
The right hand of the Lord does valiantly!
I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the Lord.
The Lord has chastened me sorely, but has not given me over to death.
You are my God, and I will give thanks to you; you are my God, I will extol you.
O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures for ever!

GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE
*The congregation is invited to stand as able.
GATHERING
*GREETING AND INVOCATION
Leader: Jesus the Christ, bore our sins in His body on the cross.
People: That we might die to sin and live in righteousness.
Leader: And this is the judgement, that the light has come into the world,
People: And we loved the darkness more than the light.
*OPENING HYMN “What Wondrous Love Is This” #292
(Verses 1, 2, & 3)
UNISON PRAYER
Lord Jesus, crucified and living Savior, we are huddled together in doubt and fear like the disciples of long ago. We do not want to be separated; we do not want to say ‘good-byes’; we do not want to follow you with a cross. But even as we know you call us to follow you up that hill, we also know that you have gone before us – you have faced danger and conquered doubt. As we remember the Good Friday events of long ago, we are brought closer to you and to each other. We know that we can go with you, because your promise abides with us. Amen.
